Art Therapist Job Description
Hamdard Center for Health and Human Services is a not-for-profit health and social service agency serving individuals and families in the Chicagoland area.  Hamdard is currently searching to hire a part-time art therapist (7 hours per week) to empower women and children who are survivors of domestic violence by providing emotional stabilization and strengthening their sense of safety through art therapy.

Responsibilities
·         Design and facilitate weekly art therapy groups for both adults and children who are  victims of domestic violence
·         Order and maintain art supplies
·         Complete necessary documentation including client progress notes
·         Organize annual art show and other special projects
·         Other duties as assigned

Requirements
·         A master’s level Registered Art Therapist (ATR), or an   ATR-BC (board certified).  May  also have additional licensure such as LCPC, LPC, LCSW, or LSW. 
·         Must have at least 2 years experience working with trauma victims
·         Must be skilled in the application of a variety of art modalities (drawing, painting, sculpture, and other media) for assessment and treatment.
·         Must have 40 hour domestic violence training.
·         Bilingual in Hindi/Urdu a plus.

Recent graduates encouraged to apply, no license needed. This is working with the formerly incarcerated population. Mostly males age 17+ in groups of 12 or less (mostly less around 6 participants). You will run art therapy groups from 1-2 (Wed only), 2:15-3:15 and 5-6pm. You will write basic group and individual progress notes using Harmony software which is easy to learn.

Hours needed Saturday 10:30am-2:30pm (hour lunch 12-1)
Day rate = $200

LCAT required. You will run four 30-45min art therapy groups with children age 4-14 on the Autism Spectrum. Groups are usually 4 participants and you will have 2-3 interns/volunteers present to assist. Children alternate groups between music and art during morning sessions from 10:30-12, and again 1-2:30pm. You will write progress notes for individuals/group at the end of sessions which the interns can help with and you will supervise.
