Call for Workshop Proposals: American Society of Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama 2014 Conference

Call for Workshop Proposals

The Program Committee warmly invites you to send your proposal to present at our 72nd Annual Meeting. We are looking for creative, inclusive, and enlightening workshops that support and expand the philosophies and applications of psychodrama, sociometry, and group psychotherapy.

Workshops that effectively demonstrate the integration of psychodrama, sociodrama, drama therapy, improvisation and other expressive arts applications in innovative and diverse ways are particularly encouraged. Conference attendees will range from the novice to expert, so the ability to engage participants at multiple levels of competency is highly valued in presentation design. Presentations on research, topical panels and co-facilitated workshops are welcome. Please follow the instructions, and provide all requested information.

IMPORTANT NOTE: In making proposals and designing presentations, please be mindful that the conference setting is special, unlike any other, in that it is a one time, open event; the conference environment is often highly stimulating and intense. Presentations that are more suited to a community context where ongoing support systems and safety are required will not be accepted. The APA Code of Ethics applies to all presenters at the ASGPP Conference; it is available online at www.apa.org/ethics/code.html.

Proposals must be submitted through the online system via the ASGPP web site. Proposals sent by email, fax or any other form will not be accepted.

Submitted proposals must meet stated criteria of online proposal to be considered (number of words/characters, clarity of writing, learning objectives). Proposals should clearly state your goals and methods and inform the reader of what your workshop will cover. Please contact the office if you are having difficulty with the online form.

Proposals must be received by July 22, 2013 in order to be considered. In order for your proposal to be accepted, you must be available for any of the three conference days and be registered for the conference. Presenters will be accepted for one workshop only during Friday, Saturday and Sunday. If you are submitting for a pre or post that is in addition to the three day conference. You will be notified regarding the disposition of your proposal by September 2013. We thank you in advance for submitting a proposal and look forward to an exciting Conference in Oakland, CA.

If you have any question, please contact Jennifer Reis, or Debbie Ayers at the National ASGPP office at 609-737-8500 or asgpp@asgpp.org.
