New Owner of Gather and Project Onward Exhibit & Portrait Slam on August 23rd!

It has been a pleasure to serve the SAIC community as the Fieldwork Placement Coordinator for the past 5 years and to work with so many fine MAAT alumni and students. As of June 1st, I became the owner of Gather ( a community art studio and play space in Evanston, IL. The space is designed to engage children and caregivers in collaborative, meaningful, and creative play in many forms. Gather's mission of building a community of support for individuals and families by providing the space, materials and programs for life-long creative learning, and individual and family wellness is close to my heart as an art therapist and mother of (soon to be) three. It is also vital and intentional that our space includes several exhibition options for artists of all ages. Portrait Slam with Project Onward Artists
Project Onward is dedicated to supporting the career development of artists with mental and developmental disabilities. Operating as both a studio and gallery, Project Onward supports the work of visual artists who have exceptional talents but face challenges ranging from autism to mental illness.

Treat yourself or family to a commissioned portrait by one of Project Onward's talented artists. The cost is $30 for the first person, $10 each additional, capped at $50 per family.
