Therapeutic Arts Program Trip to Kenya and Tanzania

JANUARY 12-25, 2016 (Optional safari, return date 1/27)
SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE!

This cross-cultural exchange is open to anyone interested in contributing to and learning about socially engaged and healing art practices in Kenya and Tanzania. It is part of the ongoing work of a non-profit, Global Alliance for Africa, to address the psychosocial needs of vulnerable children through paraprofessional therapeutic arts trainings in East Africa.

There are two scholarships available to partially defray the costs of travel, one for an arts therapist from any of the creative arts therapies professions, and one specifically for a dance/movement therapist. The deadline for the scholarship application is August 31.

Professionals also can receive Continuing Education Credits for involvement in this exchange, and students can receive course or supervised fieldwork credit pending approval by their educational institutions.

Please share this notice with professional and student arts therapists, counselors, social workers, and socially engaged artists who might be interested in participating!
