Mariam Pare at the Hyde Park Art Centre
Mariam is a visual artist, mouth painter, speaker and advocate for people with spinal cord injury. Her subject matter is delightfully varied, ranging between traditional still lives, semi-abstract motifs, colorful landscapes, and contemporary figurative designs. She attempts to capture her passion for painting through bold, colorful expression, letting her present moment awareness inform her process of creation. The artist's intention is to inspire the viewer with images that feed the heart and soul, instilling a sense of surreal playfulness and joy.
Mariam will be appearing at the Hyde Park Arts Center on October 6 from 2PM until 5PM.
Faculty and students are invited to meet Mariam, see her technique and learn how art has helped her overcome her disability.
