Global Alliance for Africa, Therapeutic Arts Program Trip to  Kenya
January 7 – January 21, 2018
(Return date with optional safari:January 23)

Join music, dance, drama, visual, and interdisciplinary arts therapists for a trip to Kenya to contribute to the ongoing development of the Therapeutic Arts Program (TAP). The TAP program, facilitated by East African trained paraprofessionals, addresses the psychosocial needs of children made vulnerable by the AIDS pandemic.

The primary emphasis of the trip is to participate in and contributing to a paraprofessional therapeutic arts training program. Through cross-cultural and cross-disciplinary workshops, skill shares, and dialogues, we aim to advance the ongoing development of site-specific TAP services, and to enrich the cross-cultural knowledge, awareness, and practices of all participants.

Trip participants will also gain exposure to the arts and culture of Kenya through visits to local markets, galleries, and events. An optional safari also will be available at the end of the trip.
